The National Association of Zazzau Students (NAZAS) was born out of a deep desire to unite students across various tertiary institutions. Tracing its roots back to the late 1990s, the association began with informal groupings at Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria.

In the year 2000, these parallel efforts were harmonized into a single, unified platform under the leadership of pioneer president Hon. Ahmed Maiyaki. This unification marked a critical turning point for the representation of Zazzau students nationwide.

Today, NAZAS stands as a legacy institution—preserving cultural heritage through campus Durbars and promoting educational development through vital partnerships.
